The UPS Store is set to join MAJ Place Hazel Dell

July 3, 2017 – The UPS Store is preparing to open a new location at MAJ Place in Hazel Dell. The UPS Store will be leasing 1,800 square feet – joining existing Tenant, Hazel Dell Modern Dentistry. This will be an ideal location for the store, benefiting from the continuous activity of MAJ Place’s surrounding tenants: Taco Bell, Dutch Bros, Panera Bread, and Fred Meyer. MAJ Development Corporation is certain that this location will contribute to the positive trajectory of The UPS Store brand. “The UPS Store has been ranked #1 in the postal and business services category for 27 years, while simultaneously making impressive jumps to rank #4 among all of the top 500 franchise opportunities in America for 2017.” The UPS Store plans to open for business at this location before the end of the year.

The Springbrook area will soon be enjoying The Dutch!

Plans are underway for MAJ Development Corp. to bring in the popular Dutch Bros Coffee to Springbrook Station located off SR 500 and 112th Ave., in Vancouver, WA. Dutch Bros has been “Roastin and Rockin Since 1992” and gained a loyal following as they continue to grow their business. MAJ will be developing the site for a brand new coffee kiosk and drive-thru; construction is slated to begin in October of this year.

New Asian grocery store will fill Beaverton food desert

99 Ranch redevelopment photo

For the last few years, one of the most-blighted intersections in Beaverton has been Southwest Hall and Greenway boulevards, where a boarded-up Haggen grocery has sat empty.

That eyesore goes away this summer with the arrival of 99 Ranch Market, the largest Asian supermarket chain in the United States. The market, which is scheduled to open in July, will be the chain’s first Oregon location. It currently has 42 stores in California, Washington, Nevada, Texas and New Jersey. The first 99 Ranch Market opened in 1984 in Westminster, California.

As first reported in the Beaverton Valley Times, the 43,000-square-foot building is undergoing renovations to make way for the new supermarket. The building was recently purchased by MAJ Development Corp., which announced last fall that 99 Ranch Market would move in this year.

The building, which is located not far from Washington Square on the west side of Highway 217, was a short-lived Haggen, and before that a long-running Albertson’s.

Since Haggen closed, the surrounding area has been under-served, with the nearest full grocery stores located more than two miles away. While 99 Ranch Market won’t carry the types of groceries shoppers found at Haggen and Albertson’s, it will contain a wide range of Asian canned goods, bulk foods and specialty products. The chain has a reputation for having spectacular selections of produce, meat and seafood.

99 Ranch Market’s arrival increases the Asian grocery options in this increasingly diverse area along Beaverton’s south side. It will compete directly with other Beaverton Asian Markets, including Uwajimaya and Asian Food Center, which are both about three miles north.

Retail, drive-thru coffee proposed in North Image

The North Image neighborhood could get a new drive-thru coffee shop and store, according to pre-application documents filed with the city of Vancouver.

Vancouver developer MAJ Development has filed to build a coffee shop and 2,000-square-foot building at Springbrook Station, a plaza at the corner of Northeast 112th Avenue and Northeast 51st Circle. The building would be set aside for retail or commercial purposes.

The application doesn’t mention a specific coffee company nor a tenant for the retail building. The stores and added parking would be built on a grass field just east of a 7-Eleven. The property is owned by Springbrook Station LLC, based in Camas.

Developers are set to meet with city planners at 9 a.m. June 8. For more information, contact Jon Wagner at 360-487-7885 or jon.wagner@cityofvancouver.us.
