New Target store spares bowling alley charm in SE Portland’s former AMF Bowling Center
PORTLAND, Ore. – Shoppers are getting the first look at a new Target store that is now at the former AMF Bowling Center in Southeast Portland.
Developers purchased the classic bowling alley on SE Powell Boulevard last year, hinting that a national retailer would be taking over the space.
The small-format Target is similar to the one downtown, offering a similar Target shopping experience with wares “tailored for local residents” in an urban setting.
The 32,000-square-foot store has nostalgic design that ties in the building’s bowling alley history.
Target at SE Powell Blvd – Now Open
Target’s newest small-format store is now open at 3031 SE Powell Blvd in Portland, Oregon. The store features bowling balls, and bowling lanes in their interior decor, as well as vintage style signage at its entrance. Paying homage to the original bowling alley.
This specialty format store tailors the needs of its local guests. It offers a quick-trip shopping experience including grocery and fresh produce, apparel and home goods, and even a CVS Pharmacy.
